Garden Sweet Pea Yankee Candle Review!

After a bit of a break and an overflowing list of things to write about, I'm glad to be back writing reviews and posting again. Its all been a bit hectic recently with my brothers engagement celebrations, but there has been one thing which has been keeping me going. Now although I am a recent fan of Yankee Candles, I have quickly become overly obsessed. I soon used up my previous Snowflake Cookie jar which was gorgeous and it was time to pick a new scent to fill my room.

The sweet perfume of delicate blooms accented with hints of pear, peach, freesia and rosewood.

The Garden Sweet Pea candle was my latest choice and it did not let me down. To be honest, when I read the name I did think it was going to smell like vegetables, but luckily I was wrong. When I lit this candle it released a subtle, sweet scent of flowers with a slight fruitiness. Although it was not as strong as my previous candle, it was so fresh and delicate.

I also love the colour of this candle and because I'm the type of person to choose a candle based on if it looks pretty, rather than on how it smells this happened to be just perfect. I do wish this was slightly stronger, but I would definitely purchase this again in the future.

I believe Garden Sweet Pea is one of the candles of the month which means its currently on sale, so if you wish to try it yourself Click Here!

Lush Rockstar Soap Review!

Smells like teen (sweet) spirit
Get into the gorgeous groove with this creamy, sweet-smelling soap. Rock Star takes you on an away day with its nostalgic smell of seaside rock wrapped up in a pink block - perfect for easing sugar cravings.

I'm not a huge fan of using soap bars and I usually buy gels or body washes but this was in my recent Lush set so I had to give it a try.

My initial thoughts on the soap was that I loved the colour, the shape and it was just so pretty. The star also releases pink bubbles and foams up very easily. But the thing I loved the most was the scent it releases. Its like a sweet vanilla and its absolutely gorgeous (which makes sense because it does actually contain vanilla). Its also huge which is great as I would have been happy with half the size.

I wasn't keen on the fact that the smell didn't last. I was hoping the vanilla smell was going to last for hours after my bath, but it barely stayed around for long at all. It was also incredibly drying on my skin, but by using a little bit of extra moisturiser my skin felt fine.

I still don't think I'm fully convinced by soap bars, they don't give me the same feeling as when using other body products but this was very pretty, smelt great and I'm really glad I got to try it.

Real Techniques Sponge Review!

So I recently bought a real techniques sponge at boots and I thought I needed to write a post on it. I have never used a sponge to apply makeup before and I was really intrigued to see how it goes.
My favourite thing about this sponge is the 3in1 aspect. The flat side I have been using the most to apply foundation and its great for concealer under the eyes too. The pointed tip is great for dealing with blemishes on my face and I also read about using the rounded side for blusher and bronzer which I am yet to try.

The coverage this gives me is medium which I actually really like. The makeup blends into your skin so well and gives such a smooth base, almost like you have not got any product on. I made sure to add more for the blemishes as some of them tend to show through.
While researching I found out how important it is to clean the sponge on a regular basis and I have really been keeping it up. I also use the 'microwave for 30 seconds' tip for disinfecting it and so far so good.

Im so glad I bought this sponge and I will continue to use it especially for those days when I want slightly less coverage and am not breaking out. If you wish to purchase one yourself, heres the link: Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Matcha Tea Review!

I am a huge lover of many types of tea and online I recently came across Matcha Tea. I would see people rave about how great this was for you and I have even seen it compared to gold. I decided to do a bit more research and I eventually ordered myself some.

What's different about Matcha Tea?
  • Matcha Powder is ground up powdered green tea leaves. So you really get the 100% benefit rather than having a diluted version.
  • People have been drinking this in Japan for hundreds of years and I can definitely see why.
  • The tea is very concentrated and is filled with goodness.
  • It contains many vitamins and minerals.
  • Its greatly versatile and you can put it with anything without taking away the health benefits.
  • Its loaded with antioxidants and is great for your metabolism.
  • One cup is equivalent to drinking 10 regular green teas.
  • It contains caffeine, so gives you a boost without giving you the caffeine crash.
I have been using Matcha since I purchased it and I am kind of obsessed! It seems to relax me and give me energy at the same time. It doesn't taste great just with water, I have to be honest but I make a cinnamon latte with it and it actually makes it very tasty. My skin has also improved and my mood swings seem to have disappeared. Basically I am fully seeing the miracle of this drink and will definitely purchase more once I'm out.

(I purchased mine from www.fwsuperfoodsuk.com but many tea sites sell it.)

Still Bathing In Christmas Spirit!

So, as Christmas is sadly over I seem to still be living in my Christmas purchases. Especially where bathing is concerned. Two lush items I got for Christmas were Candy Mountain bubble bar and Snow Fairy shower gel and I just couldn't wait any longer to try them.
The first lush item was the Candy Mountain bubble bar and I absolutely loved this. Firstly the smell is gorgeous, the bar releases a mixed scent of vanilla and candy floss which surprisingly wasn't too over powering. The bar created light pink bubbles which filled my whole bath and made me very excited. I've never used a lush bubble bar before and it did take a while to melt, but I helped it by crushing bits with my hand. I honestly cant tell you how great this made my skin feel, especially on my hands and feet. It truly was one of those baths which you just don't want to get out of. I will definitely be trying more bath bars from the lush range in the future.

The second product is the Snow Fairy shower gel and I also absolutely love this. The bottle contains a bright pink gel, filled with sparkles, that smells like bubblegum. Can you really get much better than that?! The product foamed up well and made my skin smell great and feel so smooth. I'm really sad this is in the Christmas range, because I would definitely repurchase it. It honestly made my shower smell like a sweet shop and I'm going to be on the lookout for similar products.

I have many more lush gifts which I will use in the future and hope to review. I could honestly spend hours in this shop sniffing all of the different bath bombs like a weird person. I am also looking to try their face masks as I have heard they are great on the skin.

Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser Review!

Award-winning and for all skin types, this rich, concentrated cleanser used with the pure muslin cloth gently removes daily grime and make-up, even stubborn mascara.

So this is a product I luckily received for Christmas and I have been using it ever since. I have never tried Liz Earle products before, but I have seen a few people blog about the skincare range and I know people who swear by it. The cleanse and polish claims to have naturally active ingredients which include rosemary, chamomile and eucalyptus oils. To use, firstly you massage the cream onto dry skin (which took some getting used to as this is a new one for me). Then rinse the muslin cloth in warm water and polish off the cream.

The results of this process have been great. My skin has been a lot clearer and is looking much brighter. Although I have to admit my skin has been feeling a little dry, but that usually happens in the winter months, so I don't think it has anything to do with the face wash. I strongly recommend this cleanse and polish and I will forever be using a muslin from now on.

If you wish to check out any of the range here is the link http://uk.lizearle.com/

New Years Resolutions!

Its officially the first day of 2015 and I cant stop making last year jokes! Anyway, I thought today I should round up my new years resolutions. Now, I'm somebody who really likes to try and complete my aims for the year and I try to make subtle changes so I can achieve them. Its funny how much can change in one year, so I'm intrigued for 2015 and the journey I will go on throughout it.

1. Try to stop worrying!
(Especially about things which are going to happen anyway. Just enjoy and appreciate everything, rather than wasting your time worrying about silly little things.

2. Continue to eat healthy, but make sure to treat yourself sometimes!
Everyone deserves a treat now and again!

3. Meet new people!
I always enjoy meeting new people, so this ones usually on my list. I hope to make some new, close relationships which will last a long time.

4. Continue with this blog!
I've been really enjoying this experience so far so I really hope to continue and improve.

5. Stop comparing yourself to other people!
This one speaks for itself. We are all different and we all go through different things at different times.

I'm loving reading through everyone's resolutions and I wish you all a great new year!
